How to find the right Chinese medicine practitioner
When looking for a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner, it is essential to do thorough research and consider their credentials. Start by checking if they are licensed and certified to practice TCM in your country or region. This ensures that they have undergone the necessary training and education to provide effective treatment.
Additionally, consider their experience in the field. A TCM practitioner who has been practicing for several years is likely to have a deeper understanding of the various techniques and methods used in traditional Chinese medicine.
FAQ
What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
The OG of preventative medicine, TCM is a foundational approach to health, used in China for over 3,000 years. Rooted in Taoism which recognises that mind-body balance is key to optimal wellness, disease prevention, and a better quality of life. TCM restores balance through non-invasive techniques, like herbal medicine and movement or the use of acupuncture.
Is the Gua Sha Spoon made from real jade?
Muihood Gua Sha Spoons are handcrafted with 100% Xiuyan Jade.
Our spoons are carved from authentic, natural stones that may feature inconsistencies or slight flaws.
There may be a variation in colour, pattern, veining, shine, texture and shape. This is perfectly normal, and signs that our products are not chemically treated or mass-produced. They are not defects and will not affect the function, use, or safety of the tool.
How do we formulate our products?
Our East-meets-West approach is baked into all areas of the business. Taking the best of both worlds, we work closely with our TCM practitioners and scientists to derive our skincare formulas. We also combine TCM herbs with other clinically-backed ingredients to achieve the greatest combined effects as they work together to elevate each other.
What are the benefits of using a balm cleanser?
Balm cleansers use oils and emollients to break down makeup, dirt, SPF, sweat, excess oils, and other impurities that might be on your skin. They’re great for all skin types since they’re so nourishing. Even for oily skin types as oil attracts oils, so helps to remove any excess.
What's the difference from a foam cleanser?
Unlike surfactant-based cleansers (those which foam up), cleansing balms are non-irritating and won’t dry out your skin, compromise its moisture barrier, or disrupt its pH.
How do I use a cleansing balm?
1. Scoop out a 5p coin of product and warm between your fingers.
2. Once melted, apply to your dry face, and massage in circular motions.
3. Massage for 60 seconds. If you have heavy eye makeup on, lightly massage the eye area until the makeup starts to break down.
4. Wet a clean flannel with warm water and wipe away the balm.
